Detriot 6v53, cummins b series, ford 300 I6, any of the ecoboost engines...  There's a lot to choose from.

They’re all torque steer and one wheel squeal.

3Kish is the right answer.

OK I’ll say it.

COTD

I don’t know how they do it elsewhere, but every time I register I have to provide mileage.

Yup those displays were an issue in the A6.

Having owned that generation A6 run don’t walk away. 100K is the mark for a ticking time bomb.

I feel like this would be a perfect time to use older lead acid batteries or other energy storage technology. This really doesn't need the energy density of Lion.

Now all they need is for someone to buy the things they are continuing to (super-safely because we say so) build...

Raph and Andrew have the right idea here.

Just bought the wife a new Flex, can confirm the seats are surprisingly good in it.  I’d consider one based on the seats alone.

Yes it needs work, yes the interior is terrible. I don’t care. This would be just the most fun thing and 2k is why not money.

I’m confused why you wouldn’t just get a used mountain bike, something with at least front suspension.  It’d basically do the job out of the box and run you about the same as what your initial purchase was.

Not many would do that when they can go to CA and be sent by rail across the US which is infinitely cheaper and faster.

I’ve had two large shipments sent from China in the last two months and both cleared customs and left the country within two days.

Still pretty easy to offload infotainment to the user handset, but I think the perfect world would see car manufacturers teaming up with SI’s to integrate stand alone android (or apple) systems into the cars that can be removed, upgraded and replaced just like your phone does. Good profit margins in upselling too.

Oh 100% true, but if you have unencrypted data a single pass of 0's will be good, and multipass schemes are better. Both are easy to do. Tesla really should have even basic encryption as it sounds like the chips are hard soldered in the system such that an accident that damages the module would render the data hard to

Containerships should take 2-3 weeks to get from China to the US, Japan is within the same time envelope.  Even the slowest ships won’t take over a month.

Don’t come in here with your “logic” and “reading comprehension” and for sure keep that “fact checking” to a minimum.
