I’ll tell you why the idea of a truss seems logical but has me worried.

Those numbers have the bold claim and well rounded sound of marketing nonsense.  Color me surprised if they can actually hit those targets in production models.

In, what I’m going to assume is a relatively short time, you have managed a better looking truck than Tesla did with however long they pondered what their new “super awesome tron-mobile” spent.

Absolutely this. Examples this week with icy roads on rt. 27. 55mph road where most folks do 65 in good conditions. Get an area with shade in the morning or evening in late fall and an even slightly wet road becomes a skating rink. Nothing but trees to stop you. Where are you located?  I don't see many around here for obvious reasons but I'd say that 90% of the time there is a pickup in far worse shape within 50 feet of every Mustang.

Your older Ford diesels (I want to say the 6.9 through NA 7.3) had the option of the two speed rear end which made for super good highway cruising and still gave the grunt in low gears.
