They are also extremely space-inefficient.   The rear wheel arches ruin whatever space/utility these things have.

Yup. The “Bridges to Nowhere.” The DoT was trying to bulldoze affluent neighborhoods who weren’t having any of it.

One of the fun facts about the upper Venusian atmosphere is that it is one of the very few places in the solar system where you can walk outside with only a oxygen mask. No pressure suit, no thermal outerwear.

Well, you probably need some sort of suit for the acid, like NYC.
