If the only thing you do is shoot things in Mercenaries mode, you're not getting higher then a D rank. the skill comes in using melee to build time and combos. Hell, you're not getting higher than a B if you don't even get use to command countering.

You get used to it, and that's what actually makes RE6 fun, the sheer amount of shit happening and having to actually use skill (not just bullets) to contend with everything
