@gpowell1 Truth improves with age because more facts come to light. Again, the comment was made without important knowledge that turned out to be the truth. I felt that since there was no information at the timing of the tweet is was inappropriate.

@DavidWizard and I totally understand that timing can be a very relative thing to each person. Anyone who is arguing the point of intoxication is foolish at best, and I would never sit here and try to defend someone who acted so inappropriately.

Better timing would have been to wait until after the toxicology report was released. How horrible would it have been if Ebert tweeted it, then we find out the other guy was driving, or he wasn't drunk, or that the car's brake lines were cut? Again it's not the message it's the timing of it.

I'm kinda in the same boat. To me any loss of life is sad and tragic, but it's hard to feel pity for something so irresponsible.

But the choice is what mattered. That's what made it cool. You could pick what suited you. I'm not arguing that they were or were not ugly, though basically anything from back in the day can be seen as haggard.
