I'm not about to get into oppression olympics here (any gay disabled WOC in poverty here who would like to play? Or really, any person at all who is not from a democratic industrialised nation :) ) but, just for the record, I am against all non-essential modifications of underage genitalia, and I believe all murders

Sorry I'm late to reply.

As I said: Of course pretty much everyone except straight white rich masculine males is oppressed!

First of all, your mom (the one who was born a man…) is lucky to have such a supportive family and I hope she (using female pronoun here because talking about a real person :) ) appreciates her good fortune.

Again, in order:

Ok, it was maybe a poor analogy…

But that's my point! If we stop treating gender-nonconforming children as a problem to be fixed, or remarkable in any way, wouldn't a lot of the angst and emotional damage that trans people often suffer go away?

As I said, I'm happy (and it's none of my business anyway!!) for adults to undergo any medical treatment they feel is necessary, although I do feel that some psychological work beforehand with an intelligent and ideologically neutral therapist is only prudent.

In order:

Hooray for de-lurking!
For the 'facilities' issue, of course I want everyone to be able to use a bathroom! Personally, I think the situation we have currently is just fine — people who 'pass' as a particular gender use that genders named facility and no-one notices or cares, and those who are early in the medical

Hi, woman! (Yeah, I noticed I'd made gender assumptions and edited to reflect that. Didn't expect anyone to read and respond in the short time before I did, sorry)
Ok, while we're going on record, yes I'm a woman (sorry but I refuse to qualify that statement) and in my opinion MWMF is hippy nonsense that I'd only

So why can't the women define their own space? Do you invite people into your home (or not) subject to a demographic risk assessment,or do you go with your gut?
Or think about mens' spaces; statistically they would be absolutely safe if I decided my (womanly) self belonged in the men's shower, but would all the men

OK, 1st AVclub comment here, but y'all seem to be lacking a resident radfem so…
Essentially, the position of the women of MWWF is that, regardless of their personal opinion of transgender doctrine (and personal relationship with transfolk), there is no relation between 'sex' — the biological realities of our bodies,
