I don’t think I’ve gone on 38 destination vacations as a grown adult in my life, including all the small stuff like driving out of town and getting a rental for a few days. Let alone luxury vacays someone else is paying for.

Not sure Twitter has $350k to spare at this point.

Is Kelly still around? Trump pretty much ended her for Republicans, and obviously liberals want nothing to do with her.

I like the idea of Elon Musk wandering around the Tesla factory floor trying to fix the coffee pot and typing gibberish code into a laptop the printer repair guy left behind, while the security cameras record his every move so they know who to send in and fix all his screwups the next day.

The hops drift has affected lagers and pilsners as well. I stopped drinking craft beer of any variety years ago if I had any choice in it because even the “non-hoppy” varieties are now stuffed with hops. I haven’t enjoyed a craft lager in forever, let alone a craft pilsner which basically tastes like an IPA from 20

Ouch.

The main issue is that comedies don’t travel well (translation issues, cultural differences, the references may not play in other markets, etc.), and foreign box office is a huge driver of revenue. Action movies can make 2-3x their domestic box office overseas, while comedies often struggle to merely match.

I was going to say even 5-30 billion sounds low, considering the centuries they’ve had to build up wealth. I’d guess a lot higher once you add in separate entities.

I’ve always been amazed at the degree to which Russell Brand leveraged his 15 minutes of widespread fame (co-starring in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) into so much. He’s done almost nothing since marrying Katy Perry beyond his recent turn as a right-wing shitposter, yet he’s been hanging around all these years still

The insistence that the director is the author of any film they didn’t write, at the very least, is absurd.

I honestly don’t see what people see in Coolidge’s work throughout White Lotus. She’s playing the same role she’s played for years, which is mostly a caricature.

There’s a bit of face-eating leopards to all this.

That’s the part a lot of people aren’t getting. If you raise the threshold to 60%, no referendum is ever passing again. Ohioans would be giving up their voice on all measures yet to come just to thwart this one broadly popular measure now. You will probably come to regret that, no matter which side of the aisle

Alabama, still locked in a death match with Mississippi to see which can be more stupid and racist.

I don’t think 40 or 50 pounds of blubber is going to help Musk much. Especially since Zuckerberg would go into this with some plan other than “stand still right in front of him and let him fall on you”.

Ultraviolet was a truly amazing show, with a take on genre that would still be fresh today if it had just come out. Of every vamp show or movie you’ve ever seen, it had by far the most realism-based take on what vampires would be after or how they might truly behave if they really existed in the world.

A lot of these movies no one’s ever heard of, especially near the top 5. Clearly the genre’s done pretty well if we have to dig into rando titles no one’s seen anyway. Weak list!

Guardians of the Galaxy skewed Hollywood’s perception of what obscure comic book franchises could do. Guardians was launched when Marvel was at the peak of its powers AND everyone was trying to convince themselves that they really really loved Chris Pratt. I think Hollywood looked at Guardians and concluded that it

“I was only coming onto Breaking Bad as far as I knew for that one episode, but there’s no accounting for taste, and the fans took a fancy to me,” he said.

Yes Satan?
