I’m fascinated to see what happens with Barbie. It’s about as ruthless of an IP grab as we’ve seen, yet media seems desperate to make it into a hit and proclaim Greta Gerwig/Margot Robbie the co-kings of the world. Maybe it is indeed amazing. We’ll find out soon.

One of the classic episodes, far better than the smoking crater that is the show today.

He’s not a robot, he’s a plump li’l goblin.

Agree with this. I don’t know that we want these people hiding. That they were able to fly under the radar so your average American could tell themselves they aren’t that bad is how they were able to sneak up on us in 2015/16.

Other than DeSantis, everyone else is running to be Trump’s new VP pick. Other than Pence of course, who seems to be literally too stupid to realize he’s utterly and completely done.

DeSantis was doing fine when he was signing bills the legislature put in front of him, but before anyone had seen a picture of him or (in particular) heard him speak. He comes off as the kid who was a cruel, sarcastic jerk in high school, who you run into 30 years later and is still the exact same person. And in Ron’s

The “tumult” of the 1990s? The 90s were pretty damn mellow. Compared to all that has come after, EXTREMELY mellow.

Sure, maybe it isn’t true. But if it feels like it should be true, it’s the same thing!

Holy hell, this ghoul is still rolling around the earth? Shades of 1996.

Thomas is 75 years old, has been married pretty much concurrently since he was 23, and has one biological child. Something tells me he’s taken advantage of a whole lot of birth control in his life.

Travis Kelce and George Kittle are both white guys with beards, but both seem to be genuinely good dudes and I’d guess pretty progressive. Kelce in particular seems about as Gen Z as it gets, even if he’s actually a millennial in age.

Pern was optioned, and even had a writer a bit back: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/dragonriders-pern-movie-lands-a-750512/

As to who would win...I honestly have no idea.

Overall, probably true. But given the geographic and demographic diversity of the state, that’s understandable. Around Houston, Dallas and Austin there are some of the best public schools in the nation.

I’ve heard of all the TV shows (a lot are the same show, of course), but there are a surprising number of the movies I’ve never heard of.

Are people not in the film business really more aware of the strike this time around? The last one was a pretty big story too. Personally they feel about equal to me in terms of impact.

“Starts at an 11 and must go up from there.”

I haven’t watched since Season 2 of the original show (so 24 years ago), but Miranda was always the worst and it sounds like she still is.

Texas schools are fine-ish (lower middle of the pack), but let’s not get crazy. No one’s moving to Texas for an education. Especially not these days.

So that’s what’s going on. I drive a Kia and live in California - my insurance renewed just a few days ago, and I noticed that the monthly premium I pay for my insurance is now only a few dollars off of my monthly payment for my car.
