Oh what they did isn’t erratic behavior, erratic implies that it is unusual. They do this shit all the time, it would’ve been erratic behavior if they had just helped him on his way.

I don’t think that blue dog Democrats are peeling away Republican voters any more. This is the same conventional wisdom that saw Claire McCaskill get killed in Missouri at the same time as the state passed a minimum wage hike with 53% of the vote.
Diaz has long been a barnacle that needed to be scraped off the hull of the ship of state.
If you’re a long term Democratic incumbent in a deep blue district, and your campaign manager isn’t preparing you for a challenge from the left from a young progressive, fire them.
Oh god yeah. I watched his Country Music documentary and loved it so I rewatched Civil War. Oh my god who let Foote talk so damn long. He thought Nathan Bedford Forrest was a great hero for godsake. He taints so much of Civil War it fucking hurts.
Absolutely. I remember the disbelief my father had when I was a kid and we were making a trip to the South to see my mother’s parents when we encountered the Jefferson Davis Parkway — “What, are there Adolf Hitler and Ho Chi Minh parkways too?” (well, okay, Ho Chi Minh, or at least his side, won, but the whole “enemy…
To me, the argument against naming military bases after Confederate generals doesn’t even have to get into the slavery/racism stuff: they were the enemy and they lost. Naming a base after a Confederate officer makes no more sense than naming one after a Wehrmacht officer.
Well one side is making up shit and engaging in victimhood whining and the other is the North.
There is a movement to rename various US Army bases that are currently named after Confederate generals. One of them is Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Although Braxton Bragg was such an incompetent general and lost so many battles that a joke claims the base was named after Bragg in honor of his service to the Union.
We can then move on to Pickett’s charge, one of the stupidest maneuvers in the history of warfare.

A big Lost Causer “historian” that had a huge say in shaping the narrative of Ken Burns’ touchstone Civil War and was one of the big talking heads in the doc. The documentary is dated and full of historical revisionism and needs an update.
It’s a reference to novelist-turned-historian Shelby Foote, who was one of the prime talking heads in Burns’ “The Civil War.”
To me she looks like an old school morphing special effect was paused halfway between Jennifer Garner and Natalie Portman.
Oh for sure. That whole documentary needs to be remade or seriously edited with all Foote’s Confederacy fetishism. Hell, in the 1990s, Shelby said that he would have fought for the confederacy if he could. To give that abject racism such a prominent voice in one of the touchstone documentaries devalues the whole…
I think what we need to do is start commemorating Confederate blunders. I say we start with memorializing the Confederate submarine program that managed to kill far more Confederates then it did Union soldiers.
Oh come now. As much as anyone Burns is responsible for 'kindly Uncle Shelby'. Don't let him off the hook for that.
Why didn’t he just comply??
