I also got that vibe, but I don't think that Hank will go there. I think he'll stick with Sarah this time.

I like that they made Sandy more likable this episode. Nobody can be that unrelentingly horrible all of the time.

Something about him doesn't sit right. He isn't actually very attuned to Julia emotionally. When she admitted that the divorce was hitting her hard, he made inappropriate comments about how she scored the house. He also was totally angling to spend the night with his wine comment, which bugged me almost as much as

Julia needs to drop her sleazy boyfriend. I loved Joel in this episode, and their relationship has never seemed completely over, so I am kind of hoping for them to get back together, but with or without Joel, the new guy has to go.

Apparently he really liked that Russian literature class he took.

Oh I sincerely hope not. That would be bad. Very bad.

"Adam might be an exception."

Maybe Adam will be the one who dies, leaving Kristina to suffer it all on her own, but she will rise to the occasion by starting a new compassionate, environmentally friendly and autism-sensitive funeral parlor.

Not MY own mother! Yikes.

Except that that would just clear the way for Chris to be with Julia, and for basketball to take over America.

The school is worse than the mayor run.

Was it unplanned? It seemed like Amber was pretty determined to accomplish pregnancy in the episode with the hospital bed encounter and pregnancy test purchase.

I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back. Maybe they'll run into each other at the dog park or something and hit it off again. Amber did spring it at him in a weird way. Near the end of dinner with a bit more explanation might have made mire sense.

That Chris stayed really annoyed me. Julia clearly wasn't ready for that. The guy is a lawyer, so presumably able to think on his feet. Why didn't he say: "Sorry, have to be somewhere. Next time!" and head out? That would have been the classy boyfriend thing to do — to respect your girlfriend, not her pushy brother.

Also not a fan of Chris. He was less skizzy this episode, but Julia had way better chemistry with Joel and with Max's teacher.

Kristina continues to raise the bar on weirdly self-centered over-protectiveness. I understand that she doesn't like Dylan, but Adam's excitement about being able to watch his son with his first crush was so much more appealing than Kristina's obsession with quashing it for Max's own good.

Was that the Christmas reunion special when Mike ran into a building project that was on fire or had collapsed or something, being the 60-something hero while the firefighters and 30-something construction crew stood on the sidelines wringing their hands and lamenting that all was lost, and it was to dangerous to try?

I can't believe that Adam is still making/supervising lunch (succotash? Really?) at Chambers School. His recording studio is in freefall, and he mostly doesn't trust Crosby's judgement, so shouldn't they be finding a chef/home ec teacher so Adam can get back to his day job?

Totally with you on the kid's parents. Sydney IS completely out of control, and it was as if Julia and Joel were almost looking for support and understanding fron the bullied child's parents. The other parents were completely correct to call out Julia and Joel.

Yes, he was discharged for rolling his truck while drunk, but the story on record is medical discharge. I agree about the substance abuse issues — it's just that a dishonourable discharge would be a further strike against him, and I don't think he received one.
