Had an ‘86 IROC-Z. The T-Tops leaked. I replaced the seals. They still leaked.

Had them on my 85 IROC Z, they were great to take out and be all “it’s like a targa top... kinda, almost,” but yeah, tried going through a car wash once with them... only once. Also body rigidity? The car would pretty much ooze over uneven parking lots, creaks galore.
Can confirm, I owned an ‘84 Z28 with T-Tops. I kept paper napkins and a pen in the car to use as a plug for the driver’s side T-Top where there was a small round whole towards the front-left corner.
Arguably the most unloved of all z-car generations. There is a reason for that.
"There’s a plethora of chiclet-sized buttons and switches in there, some of which look screwed on as though an afterthought.”
This may be the first time I've ever seen "plethora" used CORRECTLY on the Internet. Congratulations to you, sir.
Nah....If you’re a Datsun/Nissan fan, you can get both the earlier and later iterations of this car (both of which are much better) for the same cash outlay, if not less.
I don’t get it!
Five grand at the most, but for me, this is where it all started going wrong for the Z. Too big, too heavy, ugly and overly complex.
Pontiac is dead though...
I didn't know Alissa Walker had a side job at the Washingnton Post
Neutral: It’s certainly hurting fuel efficient vehicle sales in general, and driving inefficient vehicle sales - good for those of us that want fuel efficient vehicles on the cheap, bad for those of us that actually care about reducing fossil fuel consumption for various reasons.
Someone forgot to let California know...
The non-turbos have a different exhaust header that loses a lot of that sound, too. You can always tell the difference just by hearing it in person.
I’m sensing a theme this week: cars with questionable transmissions.
Almost sad I missed it, but not even great chilaquiles will make me sit through Margaret Cho. But thanks, now I know about it without enduring the suffering.
You mad bro? Maybe it’s a great web series, and it involves cool cars, and that’s why it’s mentioned here? Whyd you even click on the article??
Good episode. But to this day, Season 1 episode 3 with Brian Regan is the funniest ever (for me). I go back to watch every now and then and even though I know it’s coming, the joke about the toilet handle gets me ever single time!
I’d go with the water fountain joke. That’s one of the best single jokes of the whole series.
jerry shitting all over that 85 year old lady was possibly the funniest part of the episode... i was dying
Why didn’t the guy just call the cops, instead he tries to run them over? Complete idiot. I can understand this guys anger, lots of cityids come to the country and flog their cars and stop on the road (as seen here) to take their pictures and it does get old, but still be smart about it.
