Awesome review, and Joe Bob Briggs FTW.
Man the pictures are way too big. Moving down the page, they routinely take up the entire screen ans they scroll past. Unzooming to make them reasonable means I cant read the text. Looking forward to seeing how the layout evolves.
With all of the nay saying Kotaku did during the game's development about missing or changed features, I would have expected a bit more discussion of the gameplay and mechanics to try and explain whether those fears were justified. But its seems like a great experience over all, cant wait to play it tomorrow.
Seeing that picture gave me the most violent douche chill Ive experienced since Mike Tyson and the Jersey Shore people came on stage at the Spike awards a few years ago.
Saying that "they were definitely doing something together there" sounds like a bit of a stretch. The exploratory work last year could have been something as simple as an early look at Big Picture Mode, which Xi3 used to "optimize" their system around it, which is really the only Valve connection they have been…
Actually yes, that would have been brilliant.
Because people find the act of objectification is in itself offensive. It doesnt matter what it "makes you." Portraying women in a certain way bothers people in the same way that racism and homophobia do.
Well, Gran Turismo players have taken up real life racing. I am sure that games have inspired plenty of people's interest, and participation in, actual pursuits.
Hmm, and here I was assuming anyone who watched all that and cares that much about what the actual thing looks like was an Apple fan.
Embarrassed to say I hadnt read it until seeing this. But I just read the linked online version and I have a question you might help me with. "AM's Speech" as shown at the end of the article doesnt appear there. Is that from another version (that I would love to find, thats the main reason I am asking)? Or am I an…
I found that patch 1.04 helped the pets become much more viable for Inferno. I just recently cleared Act 3, and the Gargantuan was a big help. Havent spent much on gear, either. The only thing that cost me more than a million was my weapon, and that was a while ago. You could probably find a similar one for like…
I guess the different runes in D3 equate to spells. They can be detonated for tremendous damage, they can leave a health globe when they die, they can heal you as a percentage of the damage they do, etc. More interesting (and fun, and interactive, gameplay wise) than what I remember my cat doing in TL1. Nope, they…
Maybe Diablo didn't put it in with companion characters because its geared towards co-op and there are no companions in co-op? Just a guess. But as I said elsewhere, I never thought the loot selling is that big of a deal because in D3, the portals are unlimited and in TL 1, the scrolls dropped so often it was not…
I googled your username to find this blog post and it was very interesting. Nice work! I guess it is possible to criticize without being repetitive and bandwagonish.
That must have changed since the first TL, or I was doing it wrong. Since 1.04 my Gargantuan is a beast, surviving in act 3, and my cat in TL was useless for combat, and added nothing at all to the gameplay besides extra loot slots and a way to sell them without using a town portal. And even that wasnt so great. I…
The only Blizzard games I have ever touched are Diablo 2 and 3. I am open to the possibility that I am ignorant of the meaning. But that would only be because everywhere I see the WD's pets mentioned, that word is used. And maybe I inadvertently fell into troll mode after reading this hatchet job done on D3 by a…
Diablo III: No pets
"If you work for or run one the aforementioned companies and have a different perspective on how things work, let us know."
The thing that makes it even worse as a litmus test is comparing random, awful twitter comments to a couple of nice, respectful people that the AP chose to quote. That is lousy writing, plain and simple. If Kotaku editors continue to object to being called a blog, this article will be exhibit #1 in the argument.
