The Chiron should’ve had a 10L W20 with 5 turbos and a 300mph top speed.
It’s geared for top speed, it doesn’t need more aggressive final gearing because 1. Its traction limited 0-60 and 2. The engine’s redline is the limiting factor on top speed so it needed a tall final drive.
Its the Audi 4.2 V8 with an extra ~100 horsepower up top.
I would wager nothing/little has been done to increase top end and all/most of the torque gains are in the mid range (more boost sooner?).
How does an electric car wind up with more HP than torque? Maybe I’m missing something but I thought electric motors made the most torque from just above idle and it tapered off as the RPM’s increase?
Trump’s entire campaign is based on the crazy. Name a single thing he wants to accomplish that isn’t too insane to be done?
I disagree. Unless you’re giving the NA motor a (significant) displacement advantage a Turbo motor will have more AVERAGE power throughout the power and than a peakier NA motor.
I kind of agree. I felt like Takumi’s “ignorance” was more like a fundamentally different understanding of what’s going on compared to the average driver. Look at the scene where he sees drifting as the front wheels sliding while everyone else thinks he’s crazy.
If they were going to develop a mid engine platform they should’ve done it for the Vulcan. I don’t see it happening, Aston Martin’s identity is tied to GT cars.
Top rally drivers would likely be good drifters thanks to their mastery of weight transfers but I’m not sure drifters would make the transition to WRC as well since speed is a secondary objective for them.
700hp to the wheels is ~800 crank.
No, no and kinda. There is acknowledgement of the 4th wall breaking but not the kind you’re asking about.
They will make the same PEAK numbers without the flat torque curve.
Show me any Supra or GT-R with a completely flat torque curve from 1500-5500. You can’t because the 2JZ and RB-25/26/30 both don’t get into power until 4k+ rpms and pull past 7K.
HP is purely a function of RPM so any engine that revs above 5252 without losing power will have more torque than HP.
I call B.S. on account of Snorlax being ranked above Blastoise. Lies. All lies.
Instead of being great at anything, it’s between average and meh at everything. It’s not more luxurious, isn’t faster and personally I can’t think of a single way it’s better than anything else in the </200ks.
You can put lipstick on a pig but it doesn’t become a supermodel. An overpowered luxury land yacht with some weight reductions and suspension work doesn’t create a race car. A hellcat is obscenely fast (even more so) as well but it’s still a far cry from a dedicated high performance car.
The “high performance” street car that still weighed well over 2 tons. Apparently it’s actually called the GT3-R as if it is race ready.
