Galveston Bay is from The Ghost of Tom Joad, too early for this list.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this article. I actually like Home Improvement quite a lot, I re-watched all eight seasons as they came out on DVD (which is.. a long time ago now, actually) and still got a decent number of laughs out of them, particularly the Christmas and Halloween episodes, which were always inventive and

I fear an earlier comment of mine has been a victim of moderation, thanks to a link I included, so here it is again, sans link:

Hey, thanks so much for these comments over the last few weeks. Hey Arnold! would be the wildcard choice in my personal all-time top 20 TV shows, and while The AV Club have done some truly fantastic pieces on the show in the past, it's been a real pleasure to read through such in-depth thoughts on every episode.

Now that I can't argue with.

Times are tough in home video, employing someone to scour comment sections for misinformed DVD collectors and correct them on sitcom availability is apparently the most profitable way forward

I don't know where you heard that about The Middle, but season five is on DVD. Season 5 and Season 6 are both only available as Warner Archive titles though (so online-only, manufactured-on-demand), except in Canada where they got a regular retail release just last month.

It's out on DVD on January 5th.

Genuinely one of the most wonderful things I've ever read.

I've been looking forward to this one ever since Will posted on Facebook that he was going to interview Richard Kind, and I'm not disappointed. One of those guys that I love in everything he's in; just inherently funny and likeable. Great interviewer, great interviewee. (And yes, I, er, do have a plush Bing Bong at

No. :(

If I dare to shamelessly self-promote, I wrote a lengthy piece about The Simpsons' storied history in the UK over at Dead Homer Society back in 2012: http://deadhomersociety.com…

Agreed with all of this. Honestly, The Babadook utterly terrified me; I was frozen in my cinema seat and I almost wanted to cry with fear, something I have literally never felt before while watching a film.

Thanks for this piece, Marah. Big Bird is one of my all-time favourite characters from any TV show, and I love this movie a crazy amount. Of the songs, "Easy Goin' Day" strikes me as the strongest, a beautiful, if simple, ode to innocence of childhood; it's on my iPhone permanently.

Not the finest Gaslight album, but still a winner, in my book. "1,000 Years" and "Selected Poems" are catchy and anthemic, "Helter Skeleton" and "Underneath the Ground" are extremely enjoyable experiments, and "Have Mercy" and "Sweet Morphine" are quietly beautiful.

Nick UK aired the whole run a couple of times around 1997-1998. Didn't do too well in the ratings, so they gave up on it pretty rapidly.

Fair call. I'd probably go for "The Angel" or "Mary Queen of Arkansas", the weakest tracks on his first eight albums by far, in my book. A few of the forgettable ones on Human Touch or even a couple from Tom Joad would be down there for me, too.

What's your least-favourite Springsteen song?

I collect TV on DVD and Blu-ray - around 1,500 seasons at last count. I like the pretty packaging, the extra features, the superior AV quality in the case of Blu-rays.. and I like knowing that they're mine to keep, not subject to the whims of the rights-holders and distributors. Plus, it's a hobby thing, in the same

Beautiful choice. "Turn" is one of my favourite songs.
