The Jason Segal Muppets movie had a deep well of heartfelt sincerity in it that I think really spoke to what the Muppets were all about: at the end of the day, they came from the same place that gave us Sesame Street, and I don’t think there’s much room for cynicism in there.

Maybe, but there are more than a few good implementations of The Muppets post-Henson. Muppet Treasure Island, Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets From Space, Muppets Tonight...

He was accused by 3 other people of doing the same thing and nothing was really done to help them either. He was found responsible in one case, but appealed it and the woman got tired of the whole process and let it go. The biggest reason I don’t feel bad for him is because she never named him. I love the symbolism of her friends helping her carry the weight. That’s just really beautiful.

Is it bad it makes me happy (even as a rape victim myself)? I just think that instead of transferring schools like I might have done to avoid the person, she said, “I’m not forgetting, and no one else is, either!” And having her friends by her side while she’s graduating? It’s awful, but it’s the best outcome of this
