Some candidates run to “influence the larger party conversation,” some do it to increase their own profile, some do it to get VP/cabinet gigs and some do it because they’re bored. Not everyone has the same goal or purpose.

Harris let her window slip by. She had a shot after she stunned Biden in the first debate to go in and start landing haymakers. Instead, she just kinda backed off and let him regain his footing. She’s done. The media cycle has moved on and it doesn’t give second chances.

As a nation, we are still fiercely divided on whether the government should help people pay for healthcare or give them money to float them between jobs and Yang is pushing for the government to subsidize people’s entire existence.

Again, if it takes dead-on-launch impeachment hearings to get those folks to wear a blue shirt to the polls, I’m fairly confident they’re already set on what they’re gonna do on election day.

This. These loopholes and oversights that Trump and the GOP are exposing are perhaps not there by design, but no one on either side has any real interest in fixing them because they’re super useful to be able to exploit when it’s your turn.
