Just an observation from forum sites and such but... It seems to be the issue prone ones come from Mexico and the more reliable come from Germany. But that is only anecdotal evidence and I have never seen any actual facts. Though mine is from Mexico so who the hell knows.

Same thing with my 04 Jetta bought in 05. Still driving it today with 206k. Same clutch even. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Wow I never knew that issue with Forge. I am currently am using their recirculating valve for my 04 jetta. I’ve been using it for 11 years and about 190k without issue...Thankfully. I would have never thought to look there for that symptom...

Can confirm with my SC2 sedan on the oil for every fill up of fuel. Right up until it ceased and exploded a rod through the block.... Still got 200 bucks for it

The nicest thing you can afford is relative. Take the ridiculous socks that are constantly on this site “on sale”. I took a look at these socks and said, “No! I will not buy $15 a PAIR socks no matter the quality”. That is ridiculous. I am just too damn hard on my socks. /rantover
