“Funding secured” is the problem. It doesn’t matter if he sold or not. It’s a public company. You’re not allowed to lie about these things, because that’s fraud. If he really did get an offer from someone, he’s fine. If he didn’t have an offer and made it up to screw the shorts, he’s in a shitload of trouble.

The basis of securities laws is that it protects retail investors from getting wrecked because one side has more insider information than the other. If Musk lied about funding being secured, then it’s more like a rigged slot machine. That’s the basis of the lawsuit.

Uber pays better because they are unsustainably subsidizing their rides in order to drive the competition out. If not for the massive subsidies to keep fares low (an Uber rider pays something like half the true cost of a ride), it would be totally uncompetitive with a taxi.

I had a coworker with an Echo, and he brought it into the office. After he stepped out, I decided to (jokingly) ask Alexa to find a big screen TV. It dutifully found me a $3,000 television and asked if I wanted to order it. My coworkers all snickered, and then I said “nah.”

This should be obvious, but:

Duck.com does not redirect “directly to Google search.” It goes to a page giving notice that Google acquired On2 technologies, which was previously the Duck Corporation and owned the domain duck.com. It has links to ducks.com (Bass Pro Shop), duckduckgo.com, and a wikipedia article on Ducks. It isn’t possible to get

I loved Buffy but I think a remake is a better idea, frankly. The show is going to live on its ability to expand its viewership from those who watched and loved the original show. It needs to have its own story, free from the burden of its past, to really come into its own. And a sequel that insists you watch a very

There is almost certainly no safety risk involved with cell phones on airplanes. The fact that we use a variety of radio devices - in-flight WiFi, for example - should prove that airlines are not really concerned about this.

It’s just another category of the game. There’s also “scriptless” runs.

and him personally flying over there to deliver it is just an example of his hands-on management style, rather than for the PR

imagine being so angry about someone criticizing some billionaire that you feel the need to call their parent company about it, lmao

They’re really not. It’s just not even close. Even if you didn’t like TLJ, it’s still watchable. The prequels feature horrific dialogue, a plodding plot, and wooden characters. Most people probably can’t even remember a single notable scene in Attack of the Clones that isn’t embarrassing for everyone involved.

Liking or defending the prequels is about as close to a wrong opinion as you can possibly get.

energy efficiency. you could wash your dishes and cook your dinner at the same time.

No one is saying “feed them nothing but Kobe beef” here, but I think it’s pretty reasonable for human beings to be fed food intended to be consumed by other human beings. Seems like the bare minimum.

What’s the point of a ribeye if it’s grass-fed? The entire reason to eat it is the fat content, which grass-finished beef can’t match vs. grain-finished.

I don’t think Tesla is lying, but to hit this number they had to suspend production on all their (higher margin) cars. They gamed the system for a single week, unsustainable number. Again.

Don’t see a problem with his statement. Films and Netflix movies are fundamentally different experiences. They shouldn’t be next to each other.

I’m a huge supporter of public lands but... this is nothing new. Xanterra has been operating concessions in Yellowstone for years. Private businesses are part of the fabric of national parks, and I don’t really see why that’s a problem. As long as they aren’t hurting the land and are kept to small parts of the park,
