I figured out why! So... basically I think surprise trade works by matching you with people that are sharing the location in the game with you... so if you’re in the Wild Area you’ll get a match quickly, but in towns and routes will be harder to find matches.

I get a match in seconds in the Wild Area - I get the same…

That’s been my issue too... I can join other’s raids, but no one has joined mine...
