You may not have seen the same movie I have... I don't think 9/11 came up once during Shortbus. The way sex was handled in the movie was secondary to the story, I didn't feel like it was a spectacle in any way. I felt it was laze-fair about the actual sex - but dwelled on the meaning of sex between the characters.

What I think is MORE fucked up is that Jezebel is reveling in what is OBVIOUSLY this woman's schizo-typal break. It's Obvious that she's having a mental breakdown... but you gloss over it and focus on how she loves hitler.

If he wasn't with Cobie Smulders, and I was certain that she wouldn't beat my ass to a bloody, gooey pulp... I would have made an unsuccessful move on that years ago.
