You are right. Scrap is sold to and utilized by pet food companies. But not all of it can be use for pet food. Most of the stuff that goes to pets is organ / offal meats and bone meal (actually some of the best parts... but we don't eat those here in the US).

I think that nuggets are icky... and try to eat unprocessed…

That's usually what happens to "scrap" meat.
