Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed.
I feel like the skepticism called for at the end of the article is sort of a prerequisite for any sort of investigation as politicized and as potentially loaded with perils as one into the President of the United States is, even setting aside the whole Trump factor.
Starred for “darth susy.”
If a dude doesn’t want to make the visit, that’s fine. But please explain to me how Obama was making statements or advancing policies that reinforced longstanding systemic oppression of Thomas or his community.
I like how you’re pretending the only difference between Obama and Trump is the party affiliation.
I felt that the respectful thing to do was to accept the invitation until this Orange horror show got in place. But even though I felt like swallowing your pride to visit W or Obama was the right thing to do, I don’t recall bitching about anyone who decided not to go.
Thank you! All this real shit keeps slipping under the radar because of Circuses Circuses Circuses! Another nice one was the end on the ban of plastic water bottles in National parks. Payday lending is a massive crisis in this country of preying on not only minorities but Trump’s own fucking ‘economically insecure’…
If I’m not mistaken, Tim Thomas was honest about why he didn’t go to the White House to meet President Obama, so I have no problem with it. I do have a problem with people that refused to meet President Obama but wouldn’t admit to why they didn’t want to meet with him and clothed it up under different hoods dressing.

Unfortunately, there are those that’ll watch this and leave believing this is an isolated incident rather than a pattern of systematic oppression of POC. Acknowledging that there’s an issue comes with the added weight of having to do actual work to change the system, something very few people are willing to do.
Just because you read something on social media doesn’t make it true. If you were to do that and believe everything that you hear or see, written or there, the world would be in a real bad place.
The time is 1980. The place is the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn in New York City. The man is 18-year-old Colin…
Hey, well, we burned a LOT of energy slamdancing and excoriating Reagan— we deserve to spend our middle age chilling out with the weed.
THIS NAZI SHIT WON’T DO! NEEEEINN! FUCKYEAAAAAAAHHHH *dancing wildly at desk*
