You're right, early Malfatti is wild, which makes his current style so interesting to me. Well, not the only reason. I don't blame anyone for not digging his Wandelweiser aesthetic now. I do think he's put out some really beautiful stuff in that style though, like the Jürg Frey / Radu Malfatti - II, Radu Malfatti /

Totally agree. I'm still exploring her work. Really varied.

In complete seriousness, I would be more than pleased if Lundgren would have a late career resurgence.

Black Cilice - Banished from time. Lofi black metal that pushes into so much skree that it takes on almost meditative quality. Vocals are amazing.

Pecker-neck?

I saw Brotzmann a few times there. Great venue for that stuff, but, yeah, it's mostly a rock club, that happens to also put on avant garde stuff.

How the fucking know-nothing, waste of flesh Ron Johnson beat out Feingold twice made me officially give up on most of Wisconsin's electorate. Fuck those people.

I wish I liked car chases. I guess they were better than a lot of them. I will say that.

Is it me, or does Ronin make no sense at all?

This is a bummer. I was hoping for something more entertaining at least. Hill was always at least good for that. Here's to the next one.

no worries. I really didn't have the clearest point in my initial statement.

Eh, the thing was, I wasn't criticizing her. I was criticizing the term.

That's what I wrote above though. Maybe I wasn't clear (which is very possible because I'm just sitting down with my coffee).

Hmm. I'm not saying what she said is false. I just think it's far more nuanced than "mansplaining" implies.

Mansplaining is indeed a reprehensible term. And sure, men are often rude, and talk over women (and men) all the time. But I don't believe it's as gendered as the term implies. I think it's fundamentally about who has the power (or perceives they do) in a given relationship. This is often men, unfortunately. And

I hope so.

One of the best shows I've ever seen was in London when Mastodon was opening for High on Fire in 2002. I thought they were an amazing live band. But after that things went downhill fast.

A couple things, who gives a shit about Mastodon anymore? I mean, jesus, they're not good. They were ok when they came out, but that's it.

At this point I don't just expect Zach Snyder to go full Zach Snyder, I NEED him to go full Zach Snyder. Everyone wanting something different just had to give up and go with the bloated, slow motion flow.

I think Affleck probably did it too, and that he's an asshole. But there is a difference in degree and kind here which is disingenuous to not acknowledge.
