I don't mean to be a killjoy - and I generally really like pop music, even the throwaway stuff (I liked "Roar", for godsakes) - but I have never understood how any woman over the age of 13 could genuinely like Taylor Swift's whole shtick. The music never hits the right notes for me, and she's so gratingly sweet, but

Ahhh, I would trade my nasty dairy cravings for your sweet, delicious fat cravings any day.

That's a genius move. Ensures a no-nonsense result!

Your friend sounds like a very intelligent person. I kind of agree, too :)

You've explained it perfectly. Our bodies are intuitive, and PMS is the reminder that we need to stay in touch with our own needs.

The shit the genders put up with is different on every level. I don't claim to understand what men deal with on a daily basis, but for you to assume it's on par with what women deal with in terms of PMS seems a bit disingenuous. No offence meant to men - I was not attacking your sex.

I believe the word I used was "rarely". And "not to the same extent women have to". Thanks for reiterating my point.

Yes!! That about sums it up right there.

Don't get me wrong, I feel like shit too. I've just decided to make no apologies for it ever again. If someone questions my attitude, I have one go-to response (suck it), and anyone who has a problem with that can refer to my first response.

I'm of the mindset that PMS removes the bullshit-tolerance all women have, and puts us on dude-level for a few days. Guys rarely put up with shit, and they don't have to justify it with a hormonal imbalance. I like my PMS for that reason - I don't have to pretend to give a shit when I'm just not feeling it. It's

One can only assume, which doesn't reflect well on either country in my opinion.

Gahhh, that's fucking horrible. I know it happens more often than anyone would like to believe, but part of me wants to hope the people responsible for the future safety and welfare of a child actually Care about what they do. But then I remind myself what world I actually live in.

I don't understand how people like this end up with children. The agency that connected her with the kids should be held accountable in some way - at the very least they should be forced to re-evaluate the way they vet potential parents.

Ha! Good point. (I don't expect anything remotely helpful to be said, I'm more or less waiting for the inevitable moment someone puts their foot in their mouth.)

I'm curious as to what the mainstream news coverage in America has looked like so far this morning. Morning Joe and his two cents will be the tip of the very dense iceberg that is sure to come.

When Aladdin frees him, you couldn't have consoled me. As a kid, the Genie was just the best, funniest, coolest character ever. As an adult, knowing the man behind the toon - he becomes that much more magical.

It amazes me how indelibly the man has imprinted himself on us all. He was truly one of the greats, that much is clear.

Oh man, Jack may not have been a critical hit, but it's one of my favorites as well. Something about how vulnerable he had to be for the role (and Diane Lane, of course).

Hook was my Tuesday night cry. Pan the Man.

Another childhood classic.
