Its one of the random mods. Look in the bottom right corner. That’s where mods are displayed. In that shot there is a crossed out eye icon. In the section of the trailer that actually mentions mods, you can see fire melee, raining fire, and a camera (looks like black and white mode) as other icons/modifiers.

The “sales bump” is a minor boost to what the real issue is. If they give you a game they published for free, they just eat the cost. If you get a credit and buy another $70 game by someone else, they owe that publisher money.
