I LOVE THIS SHOW!!
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!
Agreed.
:) Truthfully I thought your original post was upset with me for my masters comment. I hate when people throw degrees around, so I am very self-conscious when I mention my own.
Without a doubt. Not to sound all “new agey” but everything is connected, the same underlying issue lay at the root of most major social ills. But it is easier (more convenient for those of privilage and in power) to put a pretty band-aid on those issues, rather than get at the true cause. People are happy to go to a…
Admittedly my career/life took a detour and I am not as involved in the field as I once was, but on an academic level at least there was definitely cross-over. The University of Michigan’s program (http://www.snre.umich.edu/degrees/masters/environmental_justice/overview) is a great example.
Oh absolutely. The mainstream environmental movement definitely needs to be more diverese in terms of representation of people, ideas, and issues!
Or maybe is just not expressing clearly enough for me. But generally, something seems off. I would love for the author to join in the discussion so we could get some clarity. :)
Yes, my guess is that the author is looking for the greater environmental movement, both governmental and non-governmental, to acknowledge that race and/or income plays a role in people’s access to environmental benefits (i.e. national parks) and exposure to environmental ills (i.e. air & water pollution). But leaves…
I said it only to show that I do have some experience in the field, not to denigrate the author of the article. Was just hoping for some clarification so I could make sure I was clearly understanding her point. :)
The focus of environmental justice has been the preservation of ecologies and spaces largely uninhabited by people of color.
Most dogs destroy things when they are bored...so having a “job” actually helps stimulate them enough mentally and phsyically to avoid those behaviors. I saw the video and whole heartedly agree that what happened is wrong, but the idea that no dog could enjoy some aspects of filming is pushing it.
I get that, hence the dog reincarnation comment I made in my original comment. But inherent in the concept of reincarnation is that something first has to die. Thus, repeated dogs dying. Not very interested for a lot of reasons; the latest being this video.
It’s been a learning curve? It’s been a learning curve? I just fucking can’t anymore.
The whole premise just seemed wrong to begin with...dog recincarnation and he spends all these lives trying to get back to the kid he lived with. Plus, repeated dogs dying on screen and I was definitely not in.
I don’t typically cry with much, but I caught that Joe Biden video on Facebook a few minutes ago and am crying at my desk.
Just watched her on Inside the Actor’s Studio and while I certainly loved her before, after watching that I am totally smitten. She is everything.
Good luck! Ignore the troll above and have a great time.
Counseled? How about fired, because really that is ridiculous and racist.
Truth be told, I would take that any day over the recently elected orange jelly mold with a dead rat on top.
I work at an animal shelter so I have been taking a bunch of kitten cuddling breaks.
