The boner the American right has recently developed for Russia and Putin is sure to get even more hard and throbbing now.
I just made a similar comment. Actually though, fertility rates have been on the rise in Russia in recent years and their fertility rate isn't far from ours and they aren't really dying out. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they still feel panicked about demographic collapse and that panic is contributing to…
After the Soviet Union collapsed, so did the Russian fertility rate. There's been a lot of panic about Russia dying off because of this. The fertility rate has actually been rising steadily since the turn of the century and is now close to ours, but maybe those fears are still with them and they're responding by…
Women have always worked. Anyone who thinks women going to work was a thing invented by second wave feminism is completely ignorant of history.
Roseanne is way ahead of you!
I've only been commenting there since January so maybe I just never saw you comment before. I don't know if I'd want to read it without participating in the comment section. Because yeah, it's depressing how horrible MRAs and PUAs are.
I'll look them up. Thanks!
Not to be a creepy internet stalker, but did you post a comment under the same name at We Hunted The Mammoth today? I actually always thought you'd make a good Mammotheer so if it was you, you should come back sometime and hang out! I'll probably remain forever grey for talking like this, but it's much cooler there…
Jasmine was always my favorite. She doesn't take any crap from anyone. Not her dad. Not Jafar. Not even Aladdin. Sure she fell in love with Aladdin and married him, but you never get the feeling she needed him or any other man to make her life complete. She would have been just fine as a spinster cat tiger lady.
It's hard to imagine them doing a live action Ursula movie because they'd have to cast (gasp!) a fat woman in the lead.
I like old fashioned animation so much better than Pixar and similarly styled stuff. Glad I'm not the only one! If something's animated, let it look animated. I don't need it to try and mimic reality. With contemporary animation the human characters all just wind up in the uncanny valley for me.
That was common with Grimm tales too. They took folk stories with pre-Christian origins and added some Christian stuff in to be more palatable to audiences.
Can you recommend some books? I read the Annotated Brothers Grimm and loved it. I'd be really interested in getting some more in depth information. Not just from European folk tales either. I'm also interested in learning about tales from other parts of the world.
If you haven't posted that online, you should. I would read it.
First they cancel Dallas and now this. I just hope Sleepy Hollow is here to stay.
Was anyone else annoyed that they barely even mentioned Queen of the Damned? Because I love that book and she was the only good thing in the movie even though I always pictured Akasha older and more statuesque.
I know Missy Elliott eventually lost a lot of weight, but did they not realize she wasn't skinny back in the 90s?
Witches of East End was canceled? No!
