Under that reasoning, the presence of subtitles is irrelevant. It’s either “intelligible” to someone hearing it, and who understands Russian, or it isn’t. Having subtitles, either in English or Russian, does not render the spoken language intelligible. The point seems to be that there are presumably English subtitles
