He wasn’t on suicide watch any longer. This is very, very common among suicides.  Convincing people you’re no longer a danger to yourself and planning your death is how people take their lives.  I’m not at all naive. 

He was a pedophile who died by hanging himself. That seemed easy. Anything else muddies the water for his victims.
