in the interest of curiosity, what notebook do you have?

I just built my computer and the fans that came with the case do not have a mobo connector, so I cannot control the speed and they are LOUD. constant whirring, gets annoying and there are 3 of these! would oiling these fans do anything or should I go out and buy decent case fans that connect to the mobo and are quiet?
