Trump just called Haiti a “shithole” country. But clearly, the guy needs to read a history book.

Eight of the activists who participated in the toppling of a Confederate statue in front of the old courthouse in…
for some reason this article makes me feel like my morning routine is incredibly lazy. im a 33 year old wo-man and i just crawl out of bed, brush my teeth, wash my face, and throw some product in my very short hair and hit the road. total time including dressing myself: 16 mins.
I have no basically skincare routine or makeup routine whatsoever. Does the average person use this many products? Genuinely curious, want to know how negligent relative to average I actually am. How do you determine which things you need to use? Toner vs. no toner, eye cream vs. no eye cream, etc.
Sometimes I think I’m adulting wrong because I don’t know how to do most of this stuff. Obviously I bathe but I don’t really do anything with my hair or makeup. Partially because I’m lazy, partially because no on every taught me how to do this shit, and partially because I already have strait hair and mostly clear…
The revolution will be commodified
They’re* basically all alcoholic chain-smokers who have lady closets that make Arby’s look gourmet.
There’s been a coffee shop in the Lodge for over a decade. I believe it was Peet’so for at least part of that time. The Ahwahnee (I guess it’s the Majestic now, though) has it’s own coffee shop too. I don’t know about Camp Curry or Yosemite Village. Regardless, how is Starbucks different than Peet’s? Statistically, I…
The food there was 100% corporate, terrible, and expensive.
ITT a bunch of people who have evidently never been to Yosemite arguing passionately to defend a version of Yosemite that hasn’t existed since John Muir’s day.
The NPS needs money, and Starbucks was probably the high-bid. It is just going to replace the Peet’s Coffee anyways. It isn’t like they are building a new drive thru on Tenya Lake.
Meh...there are no shortage of places to get coffee in Yosemite Valley. As intrusive as it might be to see a Starbucks coffee cup in the middle of Ahwahnee Meadow or among the grove of Sequoias, it’s really no different than seeing any other paper coffee cup. Yes, they’re both terrible, but one big corporate coffee…
Also Yellowstone National Park (lodging run by Xanterra Parks & Resorts) already has Starbucks available at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel.
I know this because I worked front desk there and bought Starbucks on too many early mornings.
Yea, really miss that distinct Delaware North flavor...
The only way this article could be stupider would be to quote Trump in it.
There are already multinational corporations in Yosemite.
This is written and commented on by a lot of people who either have not been or don’t remember going to Yosemite Village. We went through in August a couple years back. Because of the scheduling, we were in Yosemite Village on Saturday afternoon. I remember seeing all of the traffic turning to avoid the one-way,…
There is a Peets in Yosemite. This is a weird article. In Half Dome Village, there’s a Peets, a pizza place, a bar and a movie theater. There’s also a swimming pool. Weird hill to die on.
I hate Starbucks and rarely drink their coffee but there’s already a Peet’s Coffee in Yosemite Valley Lodge which I’m guessing is what this would be replacing. As someone who works in Yosemite on a regular business I’d love a local roaster or even no roaster at all (the Peet’s is the coffee in a cafeteria) but all the…
Aramark, a large, multinational corporation, already runs the lodge restaurants. And they are expensive! It’s not like the government is giving away mom and pop revenue.
