Is there a technical reason the hybrid can’t also be 4WD? I can’t imagine there is, but it seems like a really strange set-up that you can’t have both. And there’s absolutely no way I’d buy this without 4WD since this would be the vehicle I was taking camping and more importantly, to the mountain for skiing.

The worst is cars which have “daytime running lamps” that only turn on the front lights, so to the driver it appears as if the headlights are on, but to anyone behind them, the car is invisible.

“the mob of jobless employees set fire to their VR headsets.’ (Even though “mob” seems to be the subject of the sentence, it’s actually “employees,” with “a mob of” acting as a modifier.)“

I think it’s just a slightly poorly worded sentence, but that the author is saying “it is like a Raising Canes menu with the addition of spice levels.”

Where is it taking 60-90 days to get a pre-approval for a loan? We bank with Ally Bank and Bank of America, and when we were getting ready to buy, we had two pre-approvals in 2 days.

The “never buy a previous rental car” mantra means for those of us who do, you just get a good deal. Most of the miles put on rental cars are business drivers. Your average person driving a Honda Civic for work isn’t going to go off-roading or hot rodding. Also, no one wants to return a damaged car to the agency. So,

People seem to think that lawyers defending scumbags are scumbags. But the vigorous defense of scumbags is important. The idea that everyone, even scumbag rapists, has the right to a fair trial, is important.

I’m pretty sure the insurance is just based on the cost of the car.

It’s cool and contrarian to hate on In and Out. But honestly, talk to your average Los Angelean, and they love it. It’s not tourists wrapping the line around the In and Out every day. It’s the locals.

I understand no fast food burger is “good or me.” But no burger makes me feel worse, and like I shaved a year off my life, like a Five Guys burger. It just sits like a lump in your stomach.

I know I’m in a minority judging from the comments whenever In and Out is brought up, but for me, their fries are the best thing on the menu. They taste like potatoes, and I freaking love potatoes. I don’t need them twice fried or any of that nonsense. Just a little salt and ketchup.

I’m not saying you can’t have a good digital menu board, but it seems all the ones I see (mainly McDonalds and Burger King around where I live) they don’t show the entire menu the entire time. Instead, sections cycle through offerings, and I absolutely hate it.

When the Vin Diesel v The Rock battle was (still is?) going on, it was amazing to me how many people just completely ate up all of The Rock’s PR. They’re probably both egotistical, but the common narrative for some time was that Vin was basically the devil, while the Rock was the best ever.

Also really missed is the Qui Gon/Maul fight on Tatooine. It’s short, but awesome.

In a lot of bigger cities, they simply won’t do this.

Was pretty curious about the stat that apparently 57% of people go out to eat for their Christmas meal. Clicking on the link, it immediately shows that this article is mis-representing the data. The quote is:

I’m like you- I get a fresh towel once a week, unless something happened to it requiring an early wash. But in your guest’s defense, they might have just been raised using a new towel every day (my brother’s in-laws are like this), and they might have just assumed that everyone was like them.

Yes, Avatar had great special effects- but do not discount it as just that. It wasn’t the effects, it was the world. Creating a world like Pandora was a creative achievement, that people loved. There have been lots of movies with great special effects that did not create near as wonderful of a world that Avatar did.

There’s somewhere I go for work travel that has a Papa Murpheys, and I stay in an extended stay hotel, so I always get excited thinking I can get one, but then I remember the hotel only has a range, not an oven.

The Trader Joe’s ones are very disappointing.
