I’d say you’d be better off cutting some of those other wedding expenses, then cutting a fun proposal (if both you and the fiance would find it fun).

While flight attendants should be paid more, the way they are paid is not illegal. The total time they are working is tracked, and if total amount paid/total number of hours worked fell below minimum wage, then it would be illegal. It’s still scummy, and it should be changed, but it’s not illegal.

But also... good.

No it’s not. Yes, A&W hired them. But their report was not released, nor did they make a claim about findings. The CEO made this claim about the research. It could be fabricated, or even just one person in the focus group put that down and he ran with it. Or it could be real, but seems unlikely.

It is a bit of an upfront investment, but it really does help to use smart home devices which use a hub, instead of directly connecting to your Wi-Fi. Easier to control them all (especially say, if you decide to change your wi-fi password), and doesn’t use your bandwidth.

I live in CA, where 5ish years ago, they “banned single use plastic bags” at grocery stores. And something I can’t find- did this actually reduce the amount of plastic used? My guess is... no.

The salad bar hasn’t went away, and shouldn’t go away, and we knew early on in the pandemic that surface transmission is not a common way COVID is spread, and yet people still did all sorts of stupid “surface transmission” health theater.

It’s not “well documented,”  it’s “frequently documented.” There are many, many articles about it. But every single one of them only have a single source- the CEO claiming it. There is no follow up. No evidence presented. Just the quote from the CEO.

“However, customers everywhere made the mistaken assumption that because “4" is bigger than “3,” the McDonald’s burger was actually larger, and therefore the better deal. Woo, American math skills!”

The tech world loves to talk about the difference between “waterproof” and “water resistant” but that difference doesn’t exist. Nothing is “waterproof” in the way this article is talking. Everything has a depth and time limit. Even submarines, if they go deep enough, for long enough, they will leak.

But Radar Cruise Control doesn’t make it more or less likely for someone to pull in front of you. Your first comment made it seem like RCC is what allowed people to jump in front of you.

Why do you care if another car gets in front of you?

Also, you can’t see if if you’re wearing polarized sunglasses

On the other hand, good ACC (like the Mazda system) is, if anything, undervalued. I don’t think I would ever buy a car with ACC again, now that I have one with it.

While I get where you’re coming from, it’s more than just mortgage + PMI. A lot of first time home buyers don’t account for all the expenses of home ownership. It’s mortgage + PMI + property tax + repair costs + home insurance and other little things.

How can you know the “best” probiotics, when researchers don’t even know if they are beneficial, and if they are beneficial, which ones or how much someone should take?

“If it’s too cold for you, it’s probably too cold for your pet, so keep your animals inside”

Too cold for me” when wearing what clothing? Too cold for me naked is probably 65 F, where if I’m wearing my winter gear, I can stay outside in -20 F indefinitely and be just fine.

Personally I agree, but that’s not how it works in a lot of cases. For instance, driving drunk vs driving drunk and hitting someone but they live vs drunk driving and hitting someone and they die are all different crimes.

I wonder if the author knows that most of the acreage of lawn (not number of lawns, because urban is dense and has many small lawns) doesn’t require any watering? Most of the US is not anywhere close to being in a drought, and in those places, they don’t need to water their grass at all.
