I wonder if part of the problem is they assumed they could partially work off the gym model, get a bunch of people to sign up, and then not use it, to fund the few people who actually use it.

I’m excited for this movie, more so than the recent crop of disaster films, for two reasons.

I wonder if the author knows that most of the acreage of lawn (not number of lawns, because urban is dense and has many small lawns) doesn’t require any watering? Most of the US is not anywhere close to being in a drought, and in those places, they don’t need to water their grass at all.

Under Davies and Moffet’s runs, Dr Who was getting over 10 M viewers a week in the UK, and now it’s down under 5 Million. In the US, I’m sure the fall off has been similar (I haven’t watched in years).

All you have to remember is that this is the site that decided having a full body suite Maui costume for children was “problematic” because perhaps a non-Hawaiian child would want to dress up like a Hawaiian character.

I can’t make other people do things, but I’m a guy and I have lots of preferences.

Neither of the suggested replacements for “We need to talk” are better than “We need to talk.” Both of them still sound like something bad (could be) bad. Instead, let the person know the topic, or at least if it is good or bad (or neutral).

In general I’m weary of viewpoints where the buck is passed. “I don’t have to change my behavior, it’s this other thing that does.” That’s how nothing changes. If we want less fossil fuels burned, the very first step that we need to take is we need to start using fewer.

At some point people will have to realize that oil companies don’t pump oil and burn it for fun, they pump oil and it gets burned because (gasp!) we (as a collective group of people) demand oil is pumped so we can burn it. Blaming Exxon for us causing climate change is just a nice way you can point a finger somewhere…

Chick-Fil-A chicken breasts are the size chicken breasts are really supposed to be. The oversized breasts you see these days are from chickens which have been bred to have huge breasts to the point the chicken can barely walk. The meat quality also suffers.

I have no doubt that the new doorbell is larger than the old, but could you not have taken a photo where they were the same distance from the camera so we could actually see the size difference. With the original one mounted and you holding the new one closer to the camera, it looks like the new one is 2x’s larger…
