I didn't know radios could send you subliminal imagery.

@yodaddy: Well, to be honest, WP7 is quite a different shift away from the current Mobile OS paradigm. Apple's App Store and iPhone only succeeded because they coasted on the coattails of the immense successes of the iPod (and additionally, Apple has this "vibe" among consumers; people don't like criticizing Apple

@yodaddy: Size and money can lend the kind of clout that forces people to take notice of a platform, as Apple proved 4 years ago with the first iPhone. Microsoft has gotten the attention of developers; if they can keep pushing their platform, others will start noticing. Especially since it looks so different from

@itpromike: I find it incredibly ironic that in criticizing maxijet for making a wide generalization, you made one yourself.

@yodaddy: The core difference is that Microsoft is infinitely larger than Palm was when the Pre was released.

@storm: Nah, the reactions were pretty much the same. It was a huge "Well, so what?"

The screen issue I wouldn't agree with (sure, people notice bigger/higher res screens, but it isn't as if they look specifically for bigger/higher res screens).

@mrchomicz: Ars did it. And there is a significant drop (almost double the drop you see with the 3GS and Nexus One).

@tipTI: It's a great phone, for sure, but until people actually do some real testing (actual use) in the field, I would hold all conclusions.

@SJRNWT: I hate it when people pull that old argument out. What's the point? It's an illogical, outlandish statement that's used lazily instead of an actual counterpoint. It undermines any real discussion.

@flacster: Actually, I like it a ton better than any previous iPhone design before. It reminds me of my Zune HD, after a fashion (btw, I have/love my Pre Plus). The stainless steel/glass sandwich looks pretty and sturdy.

@Gigglebox: Welcome to capitalism, buddy. Now do you want your Big Mac or what?

@toxic_waste: Lovely, another Apple elitist. Aside from just saying that his arguments have no weight, why don't you PROVE it?

@Raven2386: It depends on what base you're in, you mean? Not a different type of math . . .

@Augure: I thought FaceTime was open source purely for the purpose of calling other kinds of phones besides the i4?

@lauwersp: You're kidding, right? The Blackberry has been the defacto corporate smartphone for over a decade now, like it or not. The Blackberry Storm was not one of their best models, but who judges an entire brand based on one phone? The Bold was a great phone.
