Painful title but thanks much for the link
Please do. And if you make any headway be sure to let us know.
I'm speaking about personal opinions, not the law. Under the law abortion is legal, that doesn't keep people from being anti-abortion.
That’s where we differ — I don’t view abortion as murder. Which is good because I don’t think I could get behind thinking something is murder in one circumstance but not in another.
That’s fine. I just don’t understand how people can arbitrarily that it’s murder or not depending on what’s in the mother’s head. If you think the fetus is a living thing at that stage (which is a completely reasonable thing to think about a viable fetus), then it should be unacceptable in either circumstance. In that…
How is it possible for an abortion of a fetus with a beating heart to be murder in one circumstance but not in another?
I feel like at this point people are numb to the 1 in 4 statistic. There are so many stories I can’t even keep track of them anymore. But photos and stories and sheer numbers laid out...I feel like that forces people to face it, you know? And yeah the sorting is key — how many kids, what race, what area of the country.
Pigeons and rats do not have a record of spreading disease in present day NYC. Stinging things are really only a danger for anaphylactic shock — in cases where they do carry viruses, they are rarely fatal (and, unlike alligators, being attacked by a mosquito doesn’t virtually guarantee injury or death).
The states are important but I want the cases laid out with details rather than overall numbers. Putting a story to the statistics is critical. Like this, for instance.
This was the sign for the record (I just saw it in another article). Suggests that the water is dangerous to swim in but not that there’s anything for a strong swimmer to be afraid of (a 2 year old obviously not a strong swimmer, I just mean it doesn’t seem like a danger in being near the water’s edge).
That’s literally not true? I live in NYC, what deadly animal am I supposed to be afraid of?
Jezebel usually picks up stories that get a lot of local coverage, bringing them into the national spotlight (they’re not the only ones who do that though). Neither they nor local places write about the random women shot/stabbed/beaten daily who don’t get picked up by the media. Those are he cases id be interested in…
I hope someone is keeping track of women murdered by present or former partners the way the Post is tracking deaths by shooting. Would be illuminating to see it all in one place.
And for politicizing it right a way. Not waiting long enough for the bodies to be buried. Do it now.
So saying she didn’t need a permit is relevant.
But your comment implies you think the abortion is OK here but not if it was for funsies, correct?
I just say you’re added on last bit — my 2 year old is 3 feet tall. A foot of water is probably a little above the knees, not swimming.
Do you think abortion is murder?
