If you believe the article, she spends money as fast as she makes it. $15 million isn’t as much money as you’d think if they live a frivolous lifestyle and don’t save anything. Hell, an UES townhouse can go for $20 million +. Add in renovations, new furniture, etc and she’s blown 2 years salary without batting an eye.

Not that much money for that little work. Not unless there's another hosting gig up for grabs.

Demonically possessed George is freaking me out.

I mean I get it, I just think it’s dumb. I think it’s ridiculous that the ever present pressure of reelection affects politicians actually doing their jobs. I hate how dumb Americans are and how their ignorance translates to clinging to things that hurt them.

Well if we’re being idealistic here (which I allow myself only, on occasion, in the comment section) — they were hired to serve their constituency, not protect their own political career.

There wasn’t actually any criticism in there at all - constructive or otherwise. Just a commenter helpfully adding context that you left out of the article.

If Sandy Hook didn’t swing opinions, nothing will. This is the one example where I want politicians to say “we know what’s best for this country based on mountains of evidence so we are going to just change things even if you don’t want us to.”

I hate Ted Cruz but if you read the full quote it’s not even vaguely “rapey.”

You realize that map makes it appear that he won NY when he actually had a resounding loss, right? If you can’t win in the most populated areas of the state, sometimes it doesn’t matter if you win 90% of the other far less populated counties - nor should it.

Against Sanders? Yes.

I’m not sure why that never occurred to me but that’s the perfect response. If I was voting purely based on the fact that she has a uterus, I would have voted for her in ‘08. I am voting for her because Sanders would suck.

Aw that’s very sweet.

This is brutal on the fathers too (I am NOT #notallmen-ING, I mean that more in Did the men voting realize they were condemning fellow men to this as well?). if they can't think of the women, can they at least think of the mental well being of their fellow dudes?

I would be willing to bet good money that at least 95% of the people who voted for that law have never actually been in a NICU or seen a baby with anencephaly poked and prodded for days before being taken off a respirator and finally be given peace.

Honestly to be fair if I had a body like hers I’d probably be wearing even less than that.

I fear that which I do not understand. I need to understand.

I don’t mean to offend anyone, but I can say with confidence that I would hate those people.

HA. I guess that might be the more reasonable interpretation of that scenario.

But...but...what about a sunburn on your stomach and lower back? Are those somehow impervious to the sun? I’m black but fear the sun on principle so I regularly wear a coverup if I know I’ll be out all day — but it would never occur to me to leave half of my body uncovered!
