Saying its the most expensive Chinese movie of all time is misleading. It’s being financed by Universal Pictures, ie Hollywood. It’s the most expensive film shot in China, and sure it is pandering to Chinese audiences but it’s being done in English and made by a Hollywood studio so a white lead shouldn’t be surprising.

I wasn’t waiting/hoping for a Independence day sequel but after watching this trailer it sets up a pretty cool idea of using alien technology and preparing for another attack.

Nothing he said is really novel. Step #1 is user centered design, Step #2/#3 is iterative design, Step #4 is understand market’s weaknesses/strengths and Step#5 is execute.
