A loose meat sounds terrible. Why would that ever be better than a hamburger that even if served plain, at least holds its shape.

No I got you. I was just temphasizing your point which is that nobody wants to move to these cities, whether from other parts of China or from other parts of the world because China has made it a very inhospitable place. And yes these “ghost cities” are a problem, and even more so, indicative of the much deeper…
Problem is, nobody wants to move to China. And their problems are only going to get worse, as China's population is expected to go down by about 150 million in the next few decades...
But no property tax. And every building needs maintenance. But you’re right - boats need more. It’s probably not a permanent solution to SF housing problem but it could help bridge to one.
I don’t know about that. Let’s do some math: the ship carries up to 9000 passengers, and these boats typically have space for a crew about 25-33% so total capacity is let’s say 11,500. The average price of a studio apartment in San Francisco is $2,500. Market rate rent would generate about $29 million a month, or…
Yes but you have to be as critical of your own behavior as you are of others. Your consumption of imported French cheese and Chinese everything else is arguably just as toxic and unnecessary.
Ok, but I just can’t imagine it’s any greater than 5% of the shipping industry as a whole.
It’s easy to blast the cruise industry because of its environmental impact and also their impact on the destinations they visit. I’m certainly not a fan. But their fuel use is maybe 5% of the global shipping industry, and maybe 1-2% of that of the emissions of cars and trucks.
Park it in San Francisco harbor and give teachers and other civil servants an affordable place to live.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s….
I was in Germany this summer and took advantage of this deal. I’m not sure it saved me any fuel usage but it definitely saved me money. The trains were crowded but there was mandatory masks, unlike the rest of Germany. So overall, I’d say as a tourist I appreciated it, which I feel was as much of the purpose as…
I got a ticket for having a radar detector in VA a couple decades ago. I wasn’t even speeding, I just thought having a radar detector was cool and didn’t know it was illegal in VA.
Porsche lists the Cayenne as “starting at” $72,200 but as soon as you put a base model in your shopping cart, it’s $73,650. So yes I rounded up to get to $74k, but not by much. Also that’s before even adding any color paint other than basic white or black. It’s nigh impossible to get a Cayenne for less than $80k.
A Cayenne starts at $74k. Outfitted like a Type-S Advance, it’s around $95k.

Well, thank you for not taking Jalopnik out of tour feed until you informed me about Autopian! See you there!
Where is Mercedes? I think she should be consulted on this...and may have a vehicle to sell the OP.
I think the Tonale is a pretty good looking car. With just a few design tweaks, Dodge manages to take away a lot of the elegance of that design, in an attempt to butch it up for the Dodge fans. Not a good trade-off in my opinion. I would have preferred to have them go even more butch and instill a little more…
