You could be right - disclosing the sum does seem to be common, and it’s usually not in private cases.

I’ve been working on an idea for Police Misconduct Social Responsibility Bonds. Similar concept; if nobody has any personal financial stake in reducing police misconduct, the problem will never get fixed.
Criminal case; brought by state prosecutor, against the officer, with possible jail time and fines for accused but no payments to victim. (Sometimes there’s a victims’ fund but it’s usually small.) There is not “settlement” but accused can plead guilty, usually to a lesser charge.
Welcome to the Republic of Gilead...
I thought it was a Chevy when I first saw it.
RAV4? More like it’s coming for the Ridgeline. And I think Ford will eat Honda’s lunch.
I’m with you on “grey area.” No she doesn’t enter food eating competitions, but does make money from her channel and sponsorships (I’m guessing she’s not wearing that Cheeto’s hoody just because she is a fan). In most people’s view, that would make her a professional even if she’s not technically one.
For it to work across different car makers and models, it would take a lot of standardization. Standardization is the enemy of innovation.
Some services are still this way - the attempt to “gigify” all work so as to avoid paying minimum wage. Not sure if people who drive Amazon branded trucks are paid that way (anymore?) but certainly others, like Postmates and all the Ubers are.
Given what I’ve read about how Amazon drivers are compensated (or not) and micro-managed, I’m guessing he realized he forgot to deliver a package and had to go back to deliver it, which probably gets him in trouble or costs him money.
It’s a term that has come to be viewed as outdated, if not offensive.
Actually the only thing that matters is what I think. I can’t unsee the beard.
I don’t think so.
I can’t believe this hasn’t been done before. I remember the good old days of translating greek with the Liddel & Scott, and sometimes it felt like having to translate the translation. It might be kinda fun to revisit translating Homer with this new dictionary...actually, probably not fun.
Rodeo style before the invention of rodeos.
Why does that lady have a beard?
I went to SF on business and my brother in law loaned me his 370z with a stick. It was not a lot of fun driving that.
And you would eat green peppers? My mom made stuffed peppers as a signature dish. I always disliked the green peppers. It wasn’t until later in life when I discovered yellow and red peppers that I became fond of peppers. But I still rank green ones low, especially cooked.
I too have a thing for Kei cars, ever since I visited Japan. If I had a garage, I’d probably own a dozen of them. They’re just so.. snackable!
