I’m with you. I don’t own any*  but I think there’s value in both blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. My understanding though is that the main harm from it comes from the fact that BTC has to be “mined” and that mining BTC is becoming increasingly difficult (requires more computing power, and therefore energy)

I think you’d be surprised that’s not always the case. People value things differently, especially when you’re not using cash. I was into mechanical watches a few years ago and decided to try to do something like this by trading a very basic watch (purchased for $80) all the way up to an Omega. I got pretty far along

You can flex all you want, but that doesn’t make you an expert on luxury SUVs, especially one that just came out completely revised. Go sit in an MDX, give it a drive, and then you can rant all you want about how it’s doesn’t “offer nearly the same performance or luxury.” I think you’ll be surprised. Acura is on a

“...simply pretend you do not see it. Do not comment. Do not share. Do not send it to anyone.”

Thank you both for trying this out - I was curious before, but now I’m intrigued. The one remaining question though is how long is it edible? Doesn’t it turn to mush within minutes?

So if you add the water first, then the other ingredients, it’s a switchel, but if you mix the other ingredients first you’ve got a shrub... and when you add the water is it a shrub or a switchel?

I’ve never really shopped something like the Q7"

Isn’t this a shrub?

Oh I know it’s stupid, and that it undermines the point of a splitter, but I like the look.

I would argue that it looks good, it just reveals that the person who owns the car is an idiot.

“There are families with kids in dense urban centers. But not that many.

That grill is more Genesis or Cadillac than Mercedes, and the pillar treatment reminds me of Kia. Not a great look.

Exterior is great, interior has me running away screaming “NO NO NO!”

I don’t know if it counts as a “mod” since technically it’s actually not changing the car from the way it was delivered to the dealer, but I really like the pop of color that keeping the splitter guards on cars like the Challenger.

Unintended steering of Hondas is plausible. Now that just about every car has some sort of steering assistance, the car can control the steering which means all it takes is a bug in the software or a bad sensor to turn the wheel the wrong way. And I find it much more likely that is happening than people actually

The infotainment of these Acuras gets a lot of hate from journalists, but I think it’s undeserved. Sure, if you spend a “few hours” with it, it’s not something that one immediately appreciates. But customize it and spend a month or so with it, and it actually grows on you. I’ve spent a year and half with my 2020 RDX,

Kinda sexist.

Exactly! They made $35.5 billion, of which financial services was $3.7 billion, so if their profit was $3 billion, they must be losing money making cars (by Jalopnik logic).

I had a similar trip (without Euro delivery) planned for last summer - family road tour of Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Sadly had to cancel because of Covid. Maybe next year...

Personally I think that’s over-the-top. There is such a thing as too much horsepower.
