They let Sherlock pronounce Z the British way - zed - but still have him pronounce 'beta' as the US bay-ta instead of the UK bee-ta. silly.
There's not much passionate about that horrible kind of closed mouthed sitcom kiss though. They just looked like they were both trying to make as little physical contact as possible. It's so uncomfortable.
I don't know that they should be the way of the future though, given their horrific environmental costs. I think I'd rather see women being supplied with menstrual cups. You can use one for your whole lifetime.
Since I got a Kindle I practically stopped buying paper books. Only graphic novels now or particular illustrated books, or occasional charity shop books. It's great. I'm already too weighed down by owning paper books. Frankly I wish Kindle had been invented 20 years earlier.
didn't the second Divergent film already come out?
I've not tried HBWATEOTW yet, so my favourite is South of the Border, West of the Sun. I got to that 'eh I've read enough of these' point too, but maybe I should go back to try HBW as it's been a few years now.
Banned, seriously? That seems ridiculous. Could that be because of the portrayal of what seems to be a Christian-based fascistic regime, rather than the feminist angle?
I want to reread it. When I was young I so wanted to be Fuchsia. I wonder what it would be like to read it now.
Oh no! When I first read the Secret History I was doing a degree in Classics at an old university so it was very resonant (even though I wasn't in the US so some stuff was different). I loved it and read it over and over again. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, it sucks when much recommended stuff just doesn't work for…
Thank you! Very kind. I'm doing a degree in illustration and writing right now, and I get some freelance work doing those things, so they're my job and I have to do them. Which is weird because when you have to do something it changes. Art always used to be my hobby and escape and the other thing I used to do to get…
I'm trying to read the first Crescent Moon book at the moment and I keep reading a page and then stopping to do something else. I can see it's the sort of thing I normally would read very quickly, so it's not the book, it's me. It's symptomatic of a wider problem tbh. I keep not finishing things, even thrillers and…
do you mean why we say arse in the UK? (we just do, it's always been that way. we may even find American usage of a word for 'donkey pretty bizarre similarly) or do you mean why people who aren't British might use it? (I didn't know they did, but maybe they do?)
For fucksake. I think I preferred it when I vaguely watched AoS without giving a shit what happened. Now it's finally exciting and fun again and I care about it again and they decide to do fucking bullshit like this. While still being exciting and fun, so its harder to hate the annoyingness. But basically, Fitz and…
That sounds like it would work.
How can you run that much if you hate it? I hate it and I can't do it at all. The superhuman effort that doing it three times a week must require… I can only applaud you and inform you how desperately jealous I am.
I havn't been swimming in a few weeks because my pool is closed and I'm too miserable to walk to the one that's further away, and I keep EATING stuff like a fucking idiot, because I'm in the vicious cycle of miserable>comfort eat>get fatter>become more miserable because being fat is horrible… and I feel like I'm being…
Yeah when it was good it was very good, but it's always been wildly uneven.
