I confess, I would watch a Maris spin-off in which the character still never appeared, and all the other characters just kept talking about all the weird, wacky stuff she was getting up to off-screen.

Dan Hedaya’s best work was in “Dick”, a terribly underrated comedy about the watergate scandal. his turn as Dick Nixon was great and the movie was surprisingly funny and fun to watch. You could almost believe that’s how the whole thing went down.

at this point in my life, the thing I love most about this, and i love Keanu and I’m psyched that Winona has a romantic lead, is that Winona is only 7 years younger than Keanu and not 20.

Not sure it fits the definition but no love or whatever for “Sheriff Lobo”, the spin-off from “BJ and the Bear”?

Having a show about Columbo’s wife is like giving a spin-off to Maris Crane from Frasier.

Let’s not forget that other MTM spinoff: Lou Grant, which took arguably one of the funniest characters in the show (especially when paired against Ted), moved him to LA, and made him a serious newspaper city editor - with Tony Soprano’s mother (Nancy Marchand) as his boss.

I would have included J Michael Straczynski’s various attempts to spin off from Babylon 5.

I would also add “Tabitha,” a spin-off of Bewitched. It only lasted half a season and it was lousy.

I have very mixed feelings on Fred. Namely, I love Amy Acker. She is one of my absolute favorite tv actresses and I will legitimately give any show a try if she’s in it. But I have some issues with the character of Fred. I like her overall but I don’t like how she immediately gets put into a love triangle for two of

I didn’t realize that The Law and Harry McGraw was a spinoff. I just assumed any time Orbach showed up on Murder, She Wrote (which was only once, that I can recall), it was a crossover, like that time Jessica Fletcher went to Hawaii and met Thomas Magnum (BEST. CROSSOVER. EVER).

Meanwhile, I never would have thought I would want a Buffy spinoff centering on Angel who, at least in his role as a good guy/love interest, was the least interesting part of early Buffy. But then it happened anyway and the spinoff turned out to be amazing to the point that some days I would say I like it more than

I love Mary Wickes, but that performance came with miscast June Allyson as Jo and Liz Taylor in a disconcerting blonde wig. Hard to get past all that.

I always felt Marmee was a monster for making her poor kids donate their Christmas breakfast, literally the only luxury in their whole calendar year, to the plague-ridden Hummels. Having kids of my own has not lessened this opinion. Let Amy have a fucking orange once a year. Jesus.

I want my lazycat, lazycat, lazycat, lazycat, lazycat...

Pretty sure the cat’s name is...

It would have been better if he were a tabby, then I could sing....

Has Scully’s ability to produce offspring become her main point in the plot?

I was excited that there was going to be a revival of The X Files but I found S 10 to be practically unwatchable. Was S 11 any better?

Yes, the AV Club devoting weekly reviews to the popular program while hoping it gets canceled. Makes total sense.
