I think that Anderson is right to move on. Scully was the character that brought her to wide public attention, but she has developed a lot as an actor since then. Frankly, I’d rather see her do more work like The Fall or even her supporting roles in Hannibal and American Gods. Also worth seeing her in the BBC

After I just spent writing “Fuck Chris Carter” on various social media outlets for 10 after finishing the season 11 premiere I agree. Carter needs to stay far, far away from Scully I think he hates her.

Having just finished watching the season premier, I can only hope that she is right and bails. That was dreadful in every way I can think of.

She’s necessary to the show, yet Carter tried to pay her HALF of what Duchovny got for the most recent season? Way to speak out of both sides of your asshole, Carter.

It does seem like there was an explicitly sexual harassment situation here, but it’s worth recognizing that harassment does not have to be sexual. It can be based on many things, some of which are explicitly not supposed to happen (like targeting someone based on a protected identity group). But, I do think it’s worth

Not necessarily true. Creating a hostile work environment can be harassment.

It’s frustrating that you’re sitting here focused on policing Megan for “internalizing abuse” (you know instead of the actual reality that is processing, and dealing with it in therapy, plus not speaking out because previously the men who were doing this were not being held accountable and ruining people’s careers).

I absolutely agree, Britta’s decent into stupidity was faster than Joey’s on Friends. She was a cool girl who was a SJW in Season one, by Season six, she was shitting her pants because she was drunk. It’s still one of my favorite shows, but the misogyny is cringeworthy. And that’s not even mentioning Rick and Morty.

Yeah, I don’t know why abuse in the workplace is any less reprehensible than abuse elsewhere. Sometimes you can’t leave when it’s the one job of its type in the area and you have non-competes/bills to pay. Finding something else isn’t realistic. Asking the people doing the abuse to look within and seek help is.

Have you looked into the full specifics of this? Considering her response of “to trust a boss when he complimented me and not cringe when he asked for my number. I was afraid to be enthusiastic, knowing it might be turned against me later” there’s cause to think it was harassment and not just a mercurial dick boss.

Gawker’s final days are best forgotten probably. Denton ran that trial like a complete arse and it blew up in his face.

I agree. It’s inappropriate to, in your apology, ask the victim of your behavior to help make you feel better. His recovery is on him; it’s certainly not Ganz’s responsibility to fix him. She couldn’t even if she wanted to.

Men, stop insulting children by equating your bullshit behavior with theirs.

maybe... asshole bosses should not be the norm... and holding them accountable is a step towards that....?!?!?

When you fuck up, it’s not always something that can be fixed. And when it can’t, you say sorry because you ARE sorry. You don’t get to automatically feel better, but you do get to know that your apology is sincere and isn’t motivated by self interest or merely the desire to feel less like shit. And THAT is how you

As someone who really enjoyed Community, I feel like it’s still really easy to watch how the show treated its female characters and know what kind of a writer’s room Dan Harmon ran.

No. It’s not okay for men to act like shit then expect the world to forgive them because they feel bad. You knew you were out of line to begin with, it wasn’t a goddamn revelation that you hurt women. You got caught, now you’re “sad” and “disgusted with yourself.” Until you take actual, concrete steps to be better you

Apparently, Scott Lynch has said that The Thorn of Emberlain will almost certainly (probably) be published this year, finally.

I applaud this effort, but I hope the same BS games American employers play aren’t allowed here.

Jesus Christ, the editor didn’t write that fucking comment as a dissertation piece - its a god damned comment in the margin of a Microsoft Word document, and one of hundreds. But sure, write three paragraphs about one specific comment about the content of a multi-page manuscript, and make ridiculous judgments and
