No, it is not ambiguous. There is not an occasion in which it would be appropriate for a female journalist to be asked if she fucked her sources.
GFC, homey.

“I think HR just wants to sweep the ‘minor’ issues under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen at the expense of the intern”

I wonder if any people ever quit HR because they don’t like having a job which resembles the secret police.

Sadly, eventually everyone learns that HR is really there to pull the trigger when they’re scared you will endanger the company’s reputation. Yes, even if you have a legitimate complaint.

In every industry: HR is not your friend.

Exactly. The HR department does not exist to protect employees (management or otherwise). They exist to protect the interests of company and the ownership. Once upon a time, the department was called personnel and employees were people. Now the same department is called human resources and employees are resources,

I’m sure the sheriff will be very interested in investigating drivers who sport Republicans decals, too.

If only there was a way for employees to band together into some sort of collective. You know, where they could negotiate with management and the company on how to handle these sorts of events.

While I appreciate your comment, please don’t put the weight of preventing further crimes on the victim. I speak from experience when I say that kind of guilt can destroy you. Any future crimes are on the perpetrator and it’s the responsibility of the justice system to provide the type of environment that encourages

Well, it’s now public knowledge that there are sexual harassers at Naughty Dog, so any further employees who come forward are more likely to be believed. So it’s not useless — it calls out the corporation for allowing the culture to exist.

Why do people not report these things? I reported sexual harassment issues once. I was young and stupid, and thought that if I politely asked to be reassigned because my boss kept on insisting on giving and receiving unwanted backrubs, making it very clear that I wasn’t trying to make trouble, things would be all

Unless the harassers do something super illegal, I think HR just wants to sweep the ‘minor’ issues under the rug and pretend it didn’t happen.

You don’t need to know the context or the entirety of the conversation to know that ‘Did you fuck all your sources?” is inappropriate question. Fuck’s sake. If someone is ignorant, it’s still harassment.

One fun context clue to figure out if this question wasn’t appropriate is that the woman who was asked the question is saying that it wasn’t appropriate.

One frustrating thing I’ve learned from experience: no matter how well liked you are, no matter how good your reputation, there’s always the chance that people will turn on you for talking. We once had someone on staff that... pretty much everyone who worked with him agreed that some of his behaviours were alarming;

I had this cover on my shelf when I was a kid and the cover was too scary for 8yearold me to pick up...

BUT WHO WILL WATCH A MOVIE WITHOUT THE MUSIC THAT GOES
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I’m just glad they’re keeping at least some of the math & science, tbh.

The book is humble and this movie does not look humble.
