To add to the bomb story. He sent her a bomb and killed himself when he assumed it would be opened so they could die together. It’s a really fucked up story and very understandably upset her for a while.

When it doesn’t cut my soul into little ribbons to think of this, I like to pick this apart in an almost academic way.
“I’ve never eaten a shirt”. That’s quite the statement.
They always had this thing that Bjork was very difficult, too powerful to harrass, that she was so brutal that she ate her clothing. I’m glad she clarified that, too. All these allegations meant to portray her as barbaric. It’s nice to hear from herself that no, she did not do those things.
It’s infuriating because when men are difficult because they want more money, they are considered smart and shrewd negotiators. Women are just demanding or divas.
She PERSONALLY asserts that she did not consume fabric/costume. Please don’t enable an abuser (and all around horrific POS as regards women).
I seem to remember that this same reporter had be following her for days and had been repeatedly asked to stay away. I’m not sure how close this was to the time that another stalker sent her an acid bomb. Anyway, what I’m saying is #TeamBjork
Or that time when she decided not to leave her house because of the crazy stalker that sent her a bomb?
I’ve heard some really disturbing stories come out from Von Trier’s Zentropa company. Anything from Lars wandering the office buck naked, to holding contests in which the last employee to finish a beer was fired. Many things seemed too extreme to be true, like part of the marketing farce of his hardcore punk persona.…
I read “Liar Von Trier“.
The saddest thing for me is that this is just a confirmation on how Lars Von Triers is just awful, he is more awful than people just thought I guess.
Lars von Trier has an extensive history of being a total dick. He reportedly took pleasure in humiliating Nicole Kidman and she was so upset with the final edit of the film, she walked out of the screening. This is what Paul Bettany said about him:
When the movie came out he said “she was difficult to work with”.
If a man is notoriously awful and abusive, like LVT and HW were known to be, the least surprising thing is that they’d include sexual harassment/abuse in their arsenal.
There was a comment on another article about how “emotionally fragile” Björk is. She’s not. Emotional? Yes. Fragile? No. She’s never been afraid to stick up for herself. The fact that she put up with all this shit just for this film shows you how tough she is. And she did in fact stick up for herself on set, but Trier…
Imagine an alternate universe where Bjork’s first movie making experience was with a professional and supportive director and she had such a positive experience that she made a whole series of Bjork musicals...
It’s straight from the standard abusers playbook. Don’t listen to the accuser because they are “difficult”, “crazy”, “want money”, are “vengeful”. It’s infuriating and devastatingly effective.
Björk hated von Trier so much that she yelled that she despised him each morning and ate part of her own costume due to stress from the role.
