I’ve sure been feeling that way, lately.
If you think I’m a troll, feel free to go back through my history and find and post even a single link that supports that claim. I’ll wait.
I love the Avetts and their concerts are top notch. Check them out if you have the chance.
Yeah, I also thought this article was less sloppy than usual!
I’m not disagreeing that the phrase has been used in an offensive way. My point is that shouldn’t disqualify it from being used in a benign way, especially since it’s a common phrase that FAR more often than not refers to something other than rape.
I guess I just disagree with the idea that because somebody once used an innocuous phrase in an offensive way, we all need to tiptoe around benign use of that innocuous phrase.

Alexasandr Karelin finished his career 887-2.
There’s a huge difference, and it’s that Carrie Fisher was a ginormous star. It’s what made her health issues relevant to the public and worthy of reportage.
I’m not asking that it be treated “with kid gloves.” I’m asking that it be ignored since it’s as noteworthy as, say, Lacy Chabert being hospitalized with the flu.
Agreed, and I never said otherwise.
But what makes it newsworthy in the first place?
I wanted to thank Jezebel for doing its part to de-stigmatize mental illness by featuring the psychotic break of a former star as its major, morning headline.
Off-topic, but Venus Williams just punched her ticket to the finals and her post-match interview made me so happy, seeing how happy she was to be back.
