The story is that the “big balloons” thing is a line from Katy’s song “Happy Birthday,” so while I agree that it is kind of tasteless, it also has a pretty solid context and I personally don’t really find it actually offensive and think this is probably pretty low on the list of reasons why Ellen sucks.

I had a trans friend report basically the same thing, except they basically said that it showed them how easy it is to ignore those impulses and how men are trash and can do better.

Ellen’s Katy tweet is actually a line from Katy’s song “Happy Birthday,” which, in spite of its fucking terrible video, is actually a kind of classically bawdy fun song.

I was there this summer for the first time in a few years and yeah...I’m not mad about this. The hall is smelly, the carpets are stained to hell and back and it just looks like a dusty, forgotten corner. Even 20 years ago it looked like a crypt to me, and this is usually my favorite part of a museum. There are other

The trailer was atmospheric and all but I’m still not really getting what the thrust of this show is supposed to be. Women are psychos and will hella kill people if there aren’t no mens around? Women are humans and will get animalistic if they need to? Only one of those seems like a good direction.

Maybe, but considering how much people tend to demand that politicians lie to them, I’d say this is a reap/sow situation and the problem lies with the electorate, not the politicians.

If I ever win Powerball I’m going to start an internet education initiative that’s designed exclusively to teach troll detection and response (the response class is one module and consists of “how to ride out the momentary desire to respond to a troll”)
I’m never going to win Powerball because I don’t spend money on

A lot of these people CAN understand, they’re just being willfully obtuse to troll and get people to argue with them. So keeping them gray is the correct response.

I am aware that this is a human quality. That is obvious enough that it doesn’t need to be said. I believe this to be a particularly prevalent issue with people of Bill’s generation, which is why I made the comment.

I personally have never had anything bad happen as a result of just not responding to a dude but I know my personal experience isn’t everyone’s. Not responding seems more effective than any “leave me the fuck alone” response but obviously there has to be some reason why that’s not true, right?

Every religion’s rules are basically: “if you want a good life, here’s what you do. don’t kill, don’t be a jerk, don’t lie or steal, try to moderate your desires and think before you act on your id.”

What is it with baby boomers and a seeming complete inability to accept responsibility for one’s personal choices? Blaming god is like peak baby boomer.

Is it weird that my secret work-related fantasy is to trick Bill O’Reilly into doing an interview about his corgi in which I get him to admit that he abuses her* and thereby rescue that poor pup from his evil clutches?

He hasn’t been silent, it’s just that no one gives a shit about Kevin Smith anymore. His response was surprisingly decent.

And his father! Mira + Max

NDAs can’t be enforceable when the “break” involves reporting a crime, right? RIGHT? Like that law can’t be THAT fucking stupid...right?

People are fucking vultures about famous deaths and money is the end of morality for most people.

That seems like a pretty normal thing for a person to write. What was he supposed to say, “I’m getting on this boat but I know it’s going to sink so TTYN, bitch!”

Well. I can say as a formerly beautiful woman that there is SOME truth in what she’s saying, but it’s also very ignorant. I get treated much, much differently now by the kind of men I’d actually want to date. Men who shower, have jobs, treat people with (some) respect and aren’t complete creeps mostly just see through

That show is misogynistic, but it’s also basically every kind of -ist there is. It’s truly lowest common denominator in the sense that it’s just fucking mean. All of the couples seem to hate each other. The friends don’t seem to respect each other. None of the characters really get any respect. We’re told they’re
