What is your cellphone, laptop, tablet, watch and etc powered by? That is right batteries. Your car can’t even start without a battery. To call the concept of batteries a bad one just shows how out of touch you really are.

Sorry but you are flat out wrong. It is actually the OPPOSITE.
Sorry you are wrong. Higher capacity is more important than quicker recharge. That is not to say that both would not be nice, but overall when looking at the big picture, capacity dwarfs recharge speed.
It isn’t that current batteries suck, quite the opposite, they are very good. The problem is what they are compared to. Batteries compared to CPUs suck. But overall it is pretty awesome, imagine all that batteries have done for us as a society.
Actually, no a 2X increase would put it about same as gasoline. The issue is first of all NOT energy density by weight but energy density by volume.
You are joking right? First of all, lithium ion has no “rare earth metals” (you are confusing it for NiMH batteries found in hybrids, completely different battery technology). While it has some corrosive things in lithium ion, as a complete battery it is not that corrosive.(unlike lead acid batteries which are)
Is California watching?
That makes no sense. The NHTSA has already said based on their preliminary findings they found no issues. They also have said they see no reason for shutting it off due to a single incident.
All that means is that it stopped running AFTER when they came to it. They did say there was some people claiming they heard noise from the DVD player. Of course its hard to exactly confirm since unlike computers, DVD players do not keep log data.
It is probably more important to get proper data submitted then meeting short term deadlines. An investigation only works out if you have all the details. Something done right is better than done quickly.
Long story short, BS. As mentioned, high amperage is no worse than high voltage. That said, high voltage wires are covered in bright orange. Overall though, there is little reason to be working on a car while its on. Generally there is a switch to turn off the electricity while you are working on it.
You should really note that lithium ion is also a moving bar. So it is not about surpassing lithium ion of today, but lithium ion of tomorrow. If 10 years ago you told me you have a new battery technology 1.5X better, and would be commercialized in 10 years, it would be dead in the water, because lithium ion has been…
I never said one is worse than the other, but when looking at finances between companies who operate differently, in the approach Tesla is using at least on paper makes their finances seem worse. Especially during their growth phase where there is bound to be a longer chain.
Regardless of how they call it, it isn’t going to stop people from using it in that way, and in these cases of blaming the autopilot is nothing new. When was the last time you have seen an accident and someone say “It is my fault”. That is right, never. This is not uncommon that people don’t want their insurance to…
Meh, the Tesla Model S looks way nicer than the Fisker. And just an fyi, the creator/designer of Fisker worked for Tesla, but got fired because his design was pathetic and he tried to also steal trade secrets from Tesla.
Except while the Mission E is a smaller roadster car, it still has worse specs even on paper than a Tesla Model S of today, and the Mission E is 3-4 years away.
Tesla is more profitable than any US automaker. Their losses are more tuned to their spending into rapid growth allowing them to almost double in size every year.
Except no such claims have been made. Tesla at no point made any such claims. The issue comes down to poor media reporting who keeps insisting that it is self driving when Tesla has constantly said it is not.
I know ti gets accounted for as well, but it is not put in the initial accounting, it is only accounted for when it happens. It is effectively a shell game for the automakers to offload their stock in this manner and accounting for it when convenient. If it was accounted in the same way you do lease accounting, it…
Or you can use a high power laser to blind the human driving the car. Where is the study on that? lol
