I think he said that because he wanted to finalize everything before 2nd unveil. Part of the goal this time around is prevent feature creep. So any feature that does not make it through the review will not be shown off.

So what do you consider a real journalist? Someone who will make up lies to cast him in a bad light?
Actually no, if you actually listened to what he says. The way he plans to address quality issues is to tone down of feature creep, finalize features and suppliers prior and include more people from manufacturing in the design process.
Well Musk did say in the past that the Model 3 will have a 2nd unveiling at end of the year in the past. So nothing new.
Many people who don’t follow Tesla don’t even know Tesla has a supercharger network. Even more people don’t even know Tesla has a destination charging network on top of the supercharging network:
Musk said he estimates ASP about 42k.
First of all, most people who follow Tesla knew that it was going to cost money. It might come free on higher tiered options, but overall it was well known.
Other than the fact that Musk has explicitly said that they won’t?
It is worse for consumers because there would be less superchargers. Most of supercharger costs are upfront costs. Tesla would have to delay build outs if they go the monthly route. And with monthly routes many as I explained will only take them for 1 month here and there limiting infrastructure revenue even further.
Electricity costs are also exponentially lower than gasoline costs, if that helps.
The cost to build a supercharger station is about 150k, the cost to build a gas station is 2 million.
The amount of orders is irrelevant. Tesla has never said that superchargers would be free, just the hardware would be standard. Same as the Model S 60kwh.
The add on lifetime package actually existed since day 1 of the Model S.
They aren’t shooting themselves in the foot, the demand of the Tesla Model 3 is large enough for it not to make a difference. But the fee will help build more superchargers so that those people can use them. Shooting yourself in the foot would be giving it away for free then people running into bottlenecks at…
Wireless charging is one option, but I would not say that charging stations will not suffice. As EV range continues to improve, charging station use will continue to decline.
Actually, no you actually need 1000X less superchargers than you need gas stations. Since over 90% of charging happens at home.
Sorry but no. You need to look at the big picture and the long term. Changing to a monthly subscription model would be worse for everyone including Tesla.
First of all, we all kind of knew that when Musk said standard, he was talking about the hardware. He used the same terminology to describe the Model S 60kwh. He never said it was free. Which makes sense.
As long as the multiple accounts are on same provider, transfers are instant. And you still see the overall balance in your summary. Not to mention many banks will give you free cash for opening accounts if you know where to look.
While I agree that it is silly thing to send death threats over. The one you linked on top sounds more like a reverse psychology joke than a threat. Seems like they are parodying one than actually making one.
